Dave Ivey: Keithville, Louisiana; I love to paint - period. I don't have an agenda or a philosophical message I am trying to get out _ I just like painting. I have had a career as a graphic designer and illustrator and eventually moved to web design. I paint almost everyday, sometimes for a few hours and sometimes for many hours. I'm still in the graphic's business so I awake each morning at 4:50 AM and paint, if only washing in a background and drawing ideas for my next painting. I've spent the majority of my life in the South, so I paint what I know, what is around me and what I experience personally. I also have a more than a casual interest in the human form, faces, figures, and situations. I find it challenging when reproducing the human element because it stretches me to new understanding of seeing what I am looking at and looking at what I see.
